A few days later, I bought a Ping Ultrasonic Sensor by Parallax. This video shows the sensor properly wired and operational as can be seen by way of the build-in LED on the Ping. Not yet having any servos or motors of any kind, I built a script to test the Ping which would flash the red light when an object was within 8 cm of it.

First steps
I'm creating this blog somewhat in arrears...the project was started on December 28th, 2009.
This video shows my first steps at making a simple circuit with two LEDs and making them blink in alternating fashion with some basic code. Not the most exciting thing but a good start!
